Abstract:The probability of pulsars and supernovae being found close to each other on the celestial sphere by chance is calculated. It is found that this corresponds to the number of pulsars found close to supernovae in recent investigations. Thus, we conclude that, given also the inaccuracy of distances involved, the apparent spatial coincidence of pulsars and supernovae does not generally imply generic associations.
