摘    要:为了解加州中部沿海的地震活动特征,本文利用了C值方法分析了过去36年的加州中部沿海地区地震资料,并与b值和地震频度结果进行了对比。分析了36年地震活动的基本情况。华北和加州中部沿海地区的C值资料分析表明,地震的空间分布不是随机的也不服从泊松分布。C值、b值和地震频度这三个定量的参数能够描述过去36年里加州中部沿海地区的地震活动的基本特征。

Abstract:The study of seismicity characteristics is of great importance in earthquake prediction reseacth. The use of seismicity depends upon measurement of significant temporal and spatial changes in earthquake activity. For a full treatment, a statistical parameter is necessary for quantitatively expressing the spatial distribution of earthquakes.In this paper, we want to know the characteristic of seismicity in central coast of California. So we apply the method of C-value to analysis of earthquaV.es in the central coast region of California, and compare the b value and frequency of earthquakes. The background for S6 years of earthquakes activity is analyzed. From the analysis of data of C-value of both North China and central coast of California, it is believed that the spatial distribution of earthquakes is not random and does not follow a Poisson distribution. Variation in the three quantities: C-value, b-value and rate of seismicity with time, can describe the basic features of the seismicity along the central coast California during the past 36 years.
