Abstract:Electrochemical measurements to investigate steel corrosion in sands cell with pore water for this simulation study on embedded-in-concrete steel in seawater showed that the steel corrosion was controlled by oxygen reduction; that water content and sand granularity could affect the corrosion behavior greatly., that with increasing sands cell water content from dry condition, the corrosion rate first increased, and then decreased,maximjzing at about 6 g per 50g sand. The probable mechanism is discussed.
