| Abstract: | Anomalies of astronomical time-latitude residual before earthquakes are considerably general phenomena. Its nature actually reflects largerange variations of local plumb-line of the seismogenic body. It may become a kind of key precursors in short/impending earthquake forecast. The paper outlines the cause of anomalous local plumb-line variations before earthquakes; the establishment of monitoring networks; the progress and prospect of research. |
