| Abstract: | The ostracodes reported in the paper are collected from black silty mudstone on the Miaogou limestone of the Upper Carboniferous Taiyuan Formation, at Qiligou, West Hill of Taiyuan,Shanxi Province. 14 species assigned to 6 genera are described and illustrated,among which 6 species are new.They are Aurikirkbya nodosa sp.nov., Bairdia longirhomba sp. nov., Bairdia lirella sp. nov., Bairdia anterobliqua sp. nov., Bairdia garrisonensis, Bairdia menardvillensis,Bairdia harltoni, Bair-dia subnitida, Cryptobairdia folgeri, Cryptobairdia xiaodonggouensis, Ortho-bairdia lexana, Bairdiacypris parasinensis sp. nov., Basslerella crassa, Bass-Icrella sincnsis sp. nov.. Based on Ostracodes, the strata may be referred to the Upper Carboniferous,and the dominant Bairdiids indicated depositional environment belong to marine shallow off the shore. |
