| Abstract: | Periodic microtopographic features have been observed on quartz rock splittings, a phenomenon that has not been observed before. Electron microscopy has made it possible to state that the character of distribution of the microrelief details (ditch-like and step-like features) is indicative of distribution of intercrystallite boundary dislocations. The phenomenon depends on dislocation properties and may substantiate the study of dislocations and grain boundaries. |
