西部地区的开发建设

我国西部地区计11个省区,土地面积约 700万平方公里,人口 3.4亿。区内自然资源丰富,开发潜力巨大。本区的开发建设主要是利用本地自然资源优势,发展社会主义商品经济。加强西部地区开发建设,加快脱贫致富步伐,是我国四化建设的需要,是本地区人民的迫切愿望,是项光荣而艰巨的任务。为此应采取一系列政策措施。

DEVELOPMENT AND CONSTRUCTION IN WESTERN CHINA

Western China is located at the west of Inner Mongolia-Shannxi-Sichuan-Guizhou-Guangxi,including 11 Provinces or Autonomous Prefectures. In this region ,the land area is about 7 Mkm2 and population is 340M. It has abundant natural resources and great developed potentialities.To use local natural resources to develop the commodity economy is the main developing way.To strengthen the development and construction in western China and quicken its steps for leaving impoverishment and coming into prosperty are honour and arduous tasks. This will be a need for the socialist modernized construction in China, as well as the desire of the people in this region.Thererfore, a series of measures should be carried out;l. to strengthen the organization and guiding in development and construction; 2. to take the supporting policy and arrange some core projects; 3. to carry out the horizontal economic concentions and opining policy to foreign countries; \. to rise the degree of self-sufficiency in grain and develop a deversified economy;5. to rely on science and technology as well as to pay attention to intelligence development;6. to set up good industrial structure; 7. increase the funds to support to develop production in poor areas. v
