| Abstract: | The paper overviews the establishment of earthquake data bases in China and their application,points out the important significance and purposes of establishing earthquake data bases, depicts the purposes of formulating the technical specifications for earthquake data base and the contents of the technical specifica- tions.Now,four regional comprehensive earthquake data bases and three specialized earthquake data bases, some of which have come up to the internatonal levels or reached advanced internal levels,have been estab- lished by five organizatoins in China in accordance with the technical specifications.The established data bases preserve valuable wealth of data for the seismological cause,and provide long-term,continuous,reli- able and high quality data resources for earthquake analysis,earthquake prediction and scientific research work. |
