摘    要:在研究各地区地震活动特征时,有两个基本条件必需考虑的,即各区的地壳结构和构造应力状态。本文主要根据我国和邻近地区的强烈地震的时间、空间分布,地壳厚度分布和震源机制所示的压应力方向等,讨论大地震与地壳结构和构造应力状态之间的相互关系、相互作用和影响。

Abstract:In this paper, the authors try to apply the new theory of plate tectonics to explain the regional characteristics of seismicity in China. By using time, spatial and intensive distribution of earthquakes in and near China, in combination with corresponding variation of crustal tllickness, and according to the seismic activity within our territory, four regions have been devided. The seismic characteristics of each region were further analysed by seeking the pattern of orientation of compression stress axis, according to the fault plane solutions of the regional earthquake mechanism. The authors come to a preliminary conclusion that the activities of strong earthquakes in each region are effected by Pacific tectono-plate movement from the East by the Indian tectono-plate movement from the South-West. Of course the detail will be provided by the further study.
