| Abstract: | The evolution of the mesoscale cyclonic eddy is analysed by means of a dynamic baroclinic quasi-geostrophic model. The initial field and boundary conditions defined in the course of observations made in the POLYMODE area during 24 July–23 August 1978 are used.
