| Abstract: | Abstract. The distribution of ascidians from a locality on the Spanish Mediterranean coast is investigated by means of classification and ordination analyses. Five groups or taxocoenoses are recognized, and the species are distributed among them following a gradient of light and hydro-dynamism. This pattern is affected by microhabitat factors (cryptic environments). The distribution of ecological types of ascidians is described. |
