| Abstract: | This paper deals with the establishment and development of tectonic theory duringthe recent 200 years, and the present situation and some viewpoints on tectonic theory(especially the influence of Plate Tectonics on the development of tectonic theory), andalso with the consequent terrain tectonics and new global tectonic viewpoints. ThoughPlate Tectonic theory was once in a leading place,it couldn't solve some basic problemsof continental tectonics,global tectonics,orogenics and its kinematic mechanism perfect-ly.Since 1970's,a series of important investigations and researches in the world havemade earth sciences develop in a "comprehensive,precise and profound"direction,whichwill push earth sciences including the tectonic theory forward greatly. |
