Abstract: | Four important parasitic nematodes were found associated with roots of 26 crops sampled from four locations in E Nigeria. Commercial agriculture will result in further establishment of nematodes as major pathogens in agricultural fields to the detriment of farmers and consumers. It is suggested that certain features in native farming system worked into commercial agriculture could reduce damage to crops and losses to the Nigerian farmer. |
