Abstract:In this paper, some basic principles concerning ground penetrating radar (GPR) are briefly described, and three examples are given with regard to the application of GPR to the survey of present conditions and dangers in water conservancy facilities, including the survey of present conditions of a flood gate, the detection of hidden dangers in an anti seawave dike, and the investigation of the cause of the slide and collapse of a river embankment.
