POSSIBLE A CTION OF JAPANESE ANCIENT RECORDS OF CENTRAL SOLAR ECLIPSE IN STUDY OF THE EARTH''''S ROTATION SPEED

In this paper, the fundamental principle that using ancient records of central solar eclipse to study the variation of the Earth's rotation speed and the Japanese ancient records of central solar eclipses are simply presented. The preliminary study shows that the Japanese ancient records can give valuable information to the study of the Earth's rotation although the ages of the records are not very old.
