Incorporation of inorganic carbon by Antarctic cryptoendolithic fungi

Abstract:Fungi isolated from the cryptoendolithic community of the Ross Desert are capable of fixing inorganic carbon. Results suggest that lichen mycobionts and parasymbionts are adapted to different water regimes in the cryptoendolithic environment.
