Comparison of Electrical Resistivity Methods for Investigation of Ground Water Conditions at a Landfill Site

Institution:Jerry J. Sweeney (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, P.O. Box 808, Livermore, CA 94550) received U.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois in 1969 and 1970, respectively. He obtained a Ph.D. in structural geology from the University of Illinois in 1980. Since 1980, he has been employed in the Earth Sciences Department at the University of California Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, working on projects involving elasto-acoustic methods of measuring insitu stress, geologic mapping and geophysical studies for evaluation of seismic risk, and geology and geophysical studies of hazardous waste disposal sites. Dr. Sweeney is a Registered Geologist in the state of California.
