Abstract:A finite difference model mixed with iD and 2D unsteady flow is presented for simulating flood routing in urban area, by which the influence of urban drainage system can be considered in the two dimensional model. The effects of buildings with high density, embankments of railway and highway, and kinds of flood control works are also taken into account. Verification of the model has been made by comparison with observed data of the flood of 26th September 1993 in Shenzhen city and good agreement are found. An on-line image processing system has been developed, which made the model to be used more conveniently.
