CONVERGENCES IN TABULATE CORALS OF THE GENERA LIOPORA AND NYCTOPORA FROM THE UPPER ORDOVICIAN DEPOSITS OF THE TARBAGATAY RANGE

The significance of the ramose (branching) growth form in tabulate and heliolitid corals and trepostomate bryozoans is discussed and parallel morphological developments are noted in several unrelated groups. The genera Liopora and Nyctopora are redescribed along with a new species of each.--Wm. A. Oliver, Jr.
