Resolutions of the Twelfth Session of the Committee on Absolute Dating of Geologic Formations,Division of Geologic and Geographic Sciences,U.S.S.R. Academy of Sciences 13 May 1964

Eighteen resolutions were adopted by the 12th Session of the Committee on Absolute Dating of Geologic Formations of the U.S.S.R. Academy of Sciences. The resolutions report on the activities of the Committee on age dating and efforts being made to standardize methods and procedures of age dating. Of particular interest are 1) the resolution recommending a proposal to the International Geological Congress and International Geological Union for international unification of the calculation constants required in the potassium-argon method and 2) a recommendation concerning a more detailed breakdown of the Precambrian. — F.
