First find of Late Silurian conodonts in Zeravshan Range |

Abstract: | Conodonts associated with a tentaculite Novakia ex. gr . intermedia (Barr.) and a graptolite and Monograptus hercynicus Perner are reported from the marginal beds of the Upper Silurian on the Kshtut river at the mouth of the Shishkat river, Zeravshan Range, USSR. The following species are illustrated and described: Paltodus unicostatus Branson and Mehl, Belodus asiaticus n. sp., B. subtriangularis n. sp. , B. multidentatus n. sp., Hindeodella kshtutensis n. sp. , Ozarkodina denchmanni Ziegler, Spathognathodus optimus n. sp., Synprioniodina bicurvata pronoides (Walliser), and Trichonodella zeravshanica. n. sp. --J.
