GENESIS OF LEAD MINERALIZATION IN THE SOUTHERN ALTAI

The problems of finding general criteria for commercial lead zinc deposit prospecting within the area of South Altai are considered. The specific features of the geological environment are con sidered on the basis of numerous ore-showings existing within this territory. Polymetallic mineralization is genetically related to quartz porphyries. The principal criteria for polymetallic deposit prospecting here are rather magmatic than structural-tectonic ones.—Auth.
