Heterogeneity of magmas in relation to their volatile constituents

The petrological model developed here for functional interdependences of principal petrogenic and volatile constituents of magmas brings out the sequences of orderly variations in quantity, composition, and properties of the volatile fraction, as in eruption-effusion-intrusion mechanisms, differentiation, and crystallization of the melts, at different levels of generalization. -- V.P.
