MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF COUNTRY ROCK AND ORES IN THE ALTAY-SAYAN REGION

The magnetic properties of rocks and ores from the Altay-Sayan are summarized; these results are based on a statistical study of more than ten thousand specimens. The data are tabulated. There is a general increase in magnetic activity with depth, related apparently to an overall increase in the degree of metamorphism with depth and to the character of the igneous activity. — Courtesy Geophysical Abstracts.
