Nonuniform intra-annual distribution of strong earthquakes in the Garm region

Peculiarities of the intra-annual distribution of strong earthquakes in the Garm region (energetic class K > 9.0) are considered. An increase in such earthquakes in spring has been found during a period of intense transport of thawed water into the soil. The number of weak earthquakes during this period decreases. We discuss the possible reasons for nonuniformity in the intra-annual distribution of seismicity, including those generated by a hydroseismic mechanism.
