Abstract:The ocean is the world’s largest active carbon pool and buffers global climate change. Current scientific research focuses on ocean carbon cycling and carbon sequestration mechanisms. The new cognition can be successfully reached only through interdisciplinary and integrative studies of the past and present oceans.
