Abstract: | A method for calibration and measurement with a four-wire probe is described. For each of the wires a three dimensional calibration field is determined, thus no assumption like King's law or the cosine law need to be made. The velocity vector can then be detected in a fairly large angular range (± 40°) with a numerical search algorithm. First measurements in a free jet and a confined, strongly swirling flow are presented.A version of this paper was presented at the 11th Symposium on Turbulence, University of Missouri-Rolla, Oct. 17–19, 1988 |
