| Abstract: | Recent measurements of turbulent fluxes by Desjardins and Lemon (1973) probably involve underestimates in these fluxes of 40 % or more, because of poor sensor response to  high frequency fluctuations. Indications are that use of the Gill propeller anemometer as a sensor of vertical velocity fluctuations should be confined to heights greater than 5 m over land, and greater than 10 m over the sea. |
