APPLICATION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC CT IMAGING TO WATERPROOF IN ENGINEERING INVESTIGATION SITE

Geophysical CT imaging prospecting is one of the most advanced techniques in geophysical engineering and exploration at the moment; according to the physic characteristic differentials among underground medias, this geophysical prospecting method utilizes various wave sources to penetrate and percept detection targets and their surrounding geological features, such as fault, collapse column, fold, soft zone, aquifer, cavity, water bursting structure and thickness changing zone of stratum between drifts, drill holes, drift and drill hole, base foots of dam. ; this method has widely adopted for its advantages in low cost, high accuracy and easy interpretation for multiple exploration tasks. This article discusses the principle of electromagnetic wave CT imagining technique, also introduces a case study to examine its field application and prospecting results in a waterproof engineering project
