| Abstract: | Density distribution of plasmaspheric particles in the equatorial plane is derived from a model of plasmaspheric streaming, which may produce Sq current system in the lower ionosphere, and from one integral of motion, which seems to be generally valid for steady-state magnetospheric convection. The results satisfy not only the observed features of Sq variation but also the observed pattern of the density distribution in the magnetospheric equatorial plane during quiet periods. |
