Abstract: | The expected error of the connection of the HIPPARCOS system with an extragalactic reference system by means of ground-based photographic astrometry was calculated. Two different catalogues of proper motions with respect to extragalactic objects and the HIPPARCOS proper motions were simulated. An accuracy of 0″14 per century using only 10 fields with 119 link stars of the Tautenburg Schmidt telescope (134/200/400) and 0″07 per century using 93 fields with 336 link stars of the Kiev long focus astrograph (40/550) were obtained. |
