Organic material from Phoebe to Iapetus

Abstract:It is suggested that only the outermost layers of Phoebe's crust are carbonized by cosmic protons. Meteorite impact on Phoebe leads to the ejection of materials which coming from deeper layers are different in color than the carbonized ones on the surface. The average material coming at Iapetus from Phoebe has then different spectral properties than that on the surface of Phoebe.
