Two computer programs utilized in seismic analyses of multistory buildings

This paper provides two FORTRAN subroutines for the two computational problems of the symmetric tridiagonal matrix (solution of the system of liner algebraic equations, and computation of the generalized eigenvalues and eigenvectors). The two subroutines can be utilized in the analysis of vibration characteristics of multistory buildings, and their seismic deformation computation by the response spectrum method, the push-over analysis, and the seismic response analysis by various time history methods. The two subroutines adopt special computational methods. Therefore, they have high efficiency and are very practical.
