Abstract: | The major and selected trace element composition of the melt at the eastern Lac à l'Eau Claire impact structure can be modelled by 52.3% granodiorite, 15.1% granulite, 25.7% quartz-monzonite plus 6.9% Orgueil (C1-chondrite). A satisfactory fit to melt at the western structure requires 57.4% granulite and 42.6% quartz-monzonite. These models agree with the suggestions of Palmeet al. (1978, Geochim. Cosmochim. Acta42, 313–323) on the type and extent of meteoritic component in the melts. |
