| Abstract: | Channel cutoff of the lower reaches of the Yellow River constitutes one of the greatest environmental problems in China. Based on field investigations of the Yellow River and its deltaic region carried out since 1983, the author, proceeded from the examination of the causes for channel bed drying up, puts forward various comprehensive measures for mitigating and coping with the very problem of the river. |
