| Abstract: | The concentrations of heavy metals i.e. cobalt, copper, nickel, manganese and zinc in dried material of Vernonia cinerea are much higher than in the soil samples. Accumulation of these metals is greater in pink than in purple or mauve flowered forms. The geobotanical significance of these observations is discussed. |
