Abstract: | Plagioclases of widely different compositions are found to coexist in basic charnockites of India. This may be due to structural discontinuities or difficult and slow substitution of Si/Al in tetrahedral sites. The presence of hydrous environment in making plagioclases homogeneous is discussed. |
