The Probing Principles and Applications of the Active Marine Microwave Remote Sensing

he various techniques of active marine microwave remote sensing have been described in this paper. The active sensing devices includes radar altimeter, surface contour radar, scatterometer, radar ocean-wave spectrometer and synthetic-aperture radar (SAR). We have also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of these methods which are applied in the study of different targets of ocean dynamics. It is clear that microwave remote sensing is extremely important to marine studies in that it can provide the measurements which are not available by other methods and that its results can be used still more in every aspect of studies and applications of marine dynamics.
