Methods of age estimation for detached binary systems

The ages of 224 eclipsing variable stars from the catalogue by M. Svechnikov and E. Perevozkina, which lie on the Main Sequence, are computed in two independent manners – isochrone method and evolutionary track method. The effect of errors in the initial parameters up onstellar ages computed within L-T_eff, M-R and T_eff-g diagrams are discussed. Comparisons with the results obtained by other authors are made and satisfactory agreements are achieved. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.
