| Abstract: | A model of consolidation in clay soil is studied by analytical means and the results compared with a recent numerical solution. Good agreement is obtained when the soil is only weakly non-Darcian. As the non-Darcian behavior of the soil becomes more pronounced the numerical solution is shown to be in error. |
