Scans of Comet Bennett, 19691 |

| Abstract: | We present drift curves through the head and tail of Comet Bennett at λλ5892 (Na) and 6110 Å (continuum) made on 30.5 March 1970 with a 14 arc-sec entrance diaphragm. Quantitative photometry of the sodium emission lines radial profile show a maximum intensity peak offset some 7000 km to the Sun-ward direction of the continuum (dust) maximum. Both the dust and Na distributions on the tail side of Comet Bennett show nearly exponential decays in emission away from the Sun. The interpretation of these data is briefly discussed. |
