Abstract: | The strength properties of the main types of thawing clayed soils, including loamy sand, loam, and clay have been studied. The factors controlling their evolution during freezing and thawing have been revealed as follows: grain-size composition, freezing and thawing conditions, physical properties such as unit weight and water content, and pore pressure. Using a special technique developed to account for these factors, we have revealed the geotechnical soil properties for the soil types under study. |
