Abstract:Full Stokes polarimetry is obtained using the National Solar Observatory Vacuum Tower Telescope at Sacramento Peak while observing the magnetically sensitive infrared Fei line at wavelength of 1.56mgr. A technique is described which makes use of the high magnetic resolution in this spectral range to remove instrumental polarization from observed StokesQ, U, andV line profiles.Supported under a USAF/AFOSR research initiative.Operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc. (AURA) under cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation.
