A Preliminary Study on the Processes of Desertification in the Northern Part of the Loess Grassland Areas in the Eastern Gansu

This paper, basised on the data gained from sport survey and charting, has discussed the distributions, the characters, and the reasons of the evolution of the desertification processes in the norhtern part of the loess grassland areas in the Eastern Gansu. Further more, according to the stages of formation and development desertified lands. this paper has divided the land ecological quality areas. It has a useful reference to the rational control of the desertified lands in the northern part of the loess regions in our country.
