摘    要:探索肿瘤生长性别差异的原因。研究雌激素及其拮抗剂他莫昔芬对可移植性小鼠肉瘤180生长的影响;采用同位素方法,证实了完整小鼠腹腔巨噬细胞对3H-雌二醇的特异性细胞内结合。肯定了小鼠腹腔巨噬细胞是一种雌激素受体阳性细胞。雌性小鼠肿瘤生长速率比雄性小鼠低是因为雌性激素激活了雌激素受体阳性的巨噬细胞的缘故。

Abstract:EffEcts of tamoxifen and estrogen on the growth of transplantable mouse sarcoma 180 (S180) were studied in BALB/c mice of both sexes. An apparent sex difference was observed;the growth of subcutaneously implanted S180 is faster in male mice than in females. Tamoxifen treatment was able to promote the growth of S180 in female mice and estrogen treatment was able to inhibit it in males. Application of tamoxifen or estrogen caused so obvious change of the growth of S180 in BALB/c mice that the sex difference disappeared. The intracellular specific binding of[3H] estradiol within intact mouse peritoneal rnacrophages shows that mouse peritoneal macrophages are estrogen receptor (ER )-positive cells. These observations suggest that tamoxifen and estrogen may exert their effects on the growth of S180 indirectly via ER-positive macrophages. The mechanism by which they are accomplished may be a competitive inhibition at ER level in macrophages.
