This paper expounds the developing background and components of the system. The system is an applied instance in the domain of geology. The system achieves the connection between the engineering geological database and geographical information. We can select data points directly in the map to consult the data of a single engineering geological borehole, and conduct computing of engineering investigation, carry out engineering geological profile analysis and contour analysis. This system can be used to provide auxiliary decision information for the departments of city planning and provide accurate and reliable references of engineering geological information to the departments of city construction.
