| Abstract: | The effects of petroleum on the natural microbial flora of a given environment, that is, on the bacteria, yeasts, filamentous fungi, and achlorophyllous algae, have largely been ignored. This paper represents the first recorded investigation of the impact of petroleum on ecologically important groups of bacteria. |
