| Abstract: | From data given in literature for the water solubility of organic compounds (17 alkanes, 9 alkylbenzenes, 5 cycloalkanes, 28 alcohols, 8 ketones and 12 esters) by means of linear multiple regression dependences between solubility and structural parameters (C-number, molecule radius, functional group) are estimated. It is found that the functional group and the C-number have the greatest influence. If the three parameters are used, one gets a correlation with an error of 27%. |
