| Abstract: | The regional positive anomaly recorded over the Benue Trough (Cratchley &Jones, 1965) is here interpreted to have resulted from uplift of 10 to 12 kilometres of the mantle. The uplift was due to spreading of the crust and contemporaneous thinning of crustal material. |
