Abstract:Ice alage is the main component of polar sea-ice biomes plays an important roles in the ecosystem of the polar area by fixing and exporting carbon,absorbing nutrients,producing and releasing oxygen and organic compounds,and fueling the biogeochemical cycle of the high latitude ecosystem.In this paper,the research progress on the characteristics of sea-ice habitats,the species composition and community structure of ice algae,the adaptation of ice algae to extreme sea-ice environment,and the impact of climate change on sea-ice ecosystem were reviewed at the macro and micro scales.The physiological and molecular adaptation mechanisms of ice algc to dark winters,freezing temperatures and high salinity were discussed.Under climate change conditions,the exploration of the polar sea ice environmental baseline,the investigation of biodiversity of the ice algae and its physiological adaption to the enviroment,and the study of interactions among the sea-ice microorganisms,will improve our understanding of current and future sea-ice ecosystems and biogeochemical cycles.
